Weather in Atacama: Temperature peaks up to 35° Celsius during the day and can drop to -10° Celsius at night. In the summer months (December-February) rain and heavy storms are not an exception.
Due to the desert climate and high altitude, sun protection is a must.

RAINBOW VALLEY (approx. 100 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Start around 8.30am.
Today we drive to the Rainbow valley and then visit for aprox. 2 hours through the amazing
canyons of the Valle Arcoiris, where we see curious geological formations, caves, gorges and
ridges. We are on the Domeyko Mountain Range, possibly the richest of high value minerals
mountain range in Chile. Making our way back, then we stop at the archaeological site of
Hierbas Buenas.
The biking route depends also on your resistance, it can be shorter or longer depending on this
factor. But it has always the support of the vehicle. At Hierbas Buenas we can appreciate the
ancient petroglyphs. We walk through the path among the rock engravings created thousands and
hundreds of years ago. Picnic lunch here. Then we return to San Pedro de Atacama by car in the
afternoon, around 3-4pm. Pic-nic lunch included.

fullday SALAR ATACAMA - ALTIPLANIC LAGOONS – PIEDRAS ROJAS and
TUYACTO (approx. 270km).
Breakfast at the hotel. Starts around 8.30am
Full day excursion to the Atacama Salt Flat, the biggest salt flat of Chile with a surface of 3.000
square kms and natural habitat of three flamenco species. We go on to the highland lagoons
(approx. 4200msnm) of Miscanti and Miñiques from where we have a spectacular view on the
high plateaus and can appreciate the contrast of colours: the blue sky, the yellow tones of the
vegetation, reddish and black rocks, snowy volcano tops and the blue lagoons with their white
mineral borders. We extend our visit to the Piedras Rojas/Salar de Talar/Aguas Calientes. A
nature wonder. Drive back to San Pedro de Atacama, with stops at Socaire village for lunch and
Toconao for visit. We are back by 5pm aprox. Lunch included.

– TRANSFER OUT WITH PANORAMIC ROUTE/TOUR – CACTUS CANYON HIKE
- TATIO GEYSERS – ANCIENT OASIS VILLAGES (LASANA, CHIU CHIU)– CALAMA –
FIN (approx. 280 km) We leave in the morning (synchronized with your bus schedule) from San
Pedro.
We stop first, after 30 minutes drive, to the Guatin cactus canyon, for a downstream hike into the
narrow canyon, reaching the cascades (about 1 hour hike). Then we return to the car and
continue going up, we reach the altiplano, visit Machuca village, the marshlands and up to 4300
meters, we arrive to the Tatio Geysers. You can bathe here, in the thermal rustic poll.
Impressive fumaroles can reach a height of 3mt. at this geyser field situated in the Andes Range
at the feed of the Tatio and Linzor volcanoes. Afterwards we drive towards Calama (we do not
return to San Pedro), visiting on the way Caspana, Chiu-Chiu, Lasana Fortress and the oasis
canyon of the Loa River. Drop off at Calama Airport. Breakfast and pic-nic lunch included.
