Overview:
The islands of Chiloé seem frozen in time and possess a magical aura of laid-back mistery and bucolic beauty. Our trip follows a thread that connects the traditional churches, scattered among the islands and the tiny fishing villages, built with a clever wood-working technique, protected by UNESCO as human patrimony. If you are a seafood lover, this is the place to enjoy the tasty fruits of the pure cold waters. Furthermore, we invite you to a “Curanto” dinner, which is slowly cooked in a pit digged on the ground for a feast of land and sea produce.

After the organic homemade buffet breakfast, we drive southbound to Puerto Montt and take the Pargua/Chacao ferry. Once in Chacao, if interested in a more gastronomic approach, let's have a stop at the dock to get a quick tasting of fresh catched raw seafood and then a quick visit to Ancud and the San Antonio Fort. Our scenic tour then crosses the island south for approx. 1.5 hours to the small fishing village of Dalcahue to have lunch on the dock at a fresh seafood restaurant (of course, available also meat and veggie options).
Going on south we visit Castro, Nercon and Chonchi. Then westbound we arrive to the lakes Huillinco and Cucao. Check-in at the palafito Cucao lodge on the lake. Optional: enjoy the lodge and relax or we can go to the wild beach on the pacific ocean where... cows roam free eating the plenty giant algae (Cochayuyo) on the shoreline.
