Overview:
The islands of Chiloé seem frozen in time and possess a magical aura of laid-back mistery and bucolic beauty. Our trip follows a thread that connects the traditional churches, scattered among the islands and the tiny fishing villages, built with a clever wood-working technique, protected by UNESCO as human patrimony. If you are a seafood lover, this is the place to enjoy the tasty fruits of the pure cold waters. Furthermore, we invite you to a “Curanto” dinner, which is slowly cooked in a pit digged on the ground for a feast of land and sea produce.

Day 1

Arrival to Puerto Montt airport (PMC) with flight from Santiago (SCL) or Punta Arenas (PUQ).Flight suggested arrival before noon. Reception by driver/guide with private vehicle. We visit Puerto Varas, Puerto Octay and Frutillar on the LLanquihue lake with a welcome buffet lunch at the "Espantapajaros" a heritage brewery and restaurant of chilean-german tradition, with amazing views on the lake and craft beer. Towards the evening, we lodge at a special setting at bungalows with private beach on the lakeshore. The rooming is independent houses with 1 or 2 bedrooms and full-equipped. Lunch is included this day.

Optional activities: lake navigation and salmon fishing.

Day 2

Roadtrip and ferry to the great island and scenic route south to the National Park of Chiloe and the village of Cucao.

After the organic homemade buffet breakfast, we drive southbound to Puerto Montt and take the Pargua/Chacao ferry. Once in Chacao, if interested in a more gastronomic approach, let's have a stop at the dock to get a quick tasting of fresh catched raw seafood and then a quick visit to Ancud and the San Antonio Fort. Our scenic tour then crosses the island south for approx. 1.5 hours to the small fishing village of Dalcahue to have lunch on the dock at a fresh seafood restaurant (of course, available also meat and veggie options).

Going on south we visit Castro, Nercon and Chonchi. Then westbound we arrive to the lakes Huillinco and Cucao. Check-in at the palafito Cucao lodge on the lake. Optional: enjoy the lodge and relax or we can go to the wild beach on the pacific ocean where... cows roam free eating the plenty giant algae (Cochayuyo) on the shoreline. This day includes breakfast and lunch. Dinner is available in restaurants in Cucao or the Lodge offers the use of a full kitchen and also a hot tub on the lake.

Day 3

Scenic tour and ferry to Quinchao and the UNESCO church route until Chepu.

After breakfast, we drive back to the north and cross to the island of Quinchao. Visit of Curaco de Velez and Achao. Back to the main island we continue to visit the beautiful church of Tenaun tiny village, then Quemchi and the island of the sailors souls. These are all dreamy and quiet places of an era far gone. Our way north takes us to a detour to the west coast again for our stay for the night at an award-winning sustainable lodge on the Chepu river. This amazing natural area is surrounded by the sunken forest a natural phenomenon caused by an earthquake. In the evening we will enjoy the dinner and breakfast with local products and organic vegetables. This day includes breakfast and dinner.

Flight back to Santiago (SCL) or any other connecting destinations.

Please note: according to the date of tour and your continuation of travel plan, we may have flights from Mocopulli airport (MHC) to Santiago or from Puerto Montt to Santiago and/or Punta Arenas. This day includes breakfast only.
