Day 1
Day 1

Arrival to Puerto Montt airport (PMC) with flight from Santiago (SCL).

Flight suggested arrival before noon. Reception by driver/guide with private vehicle. We visit Puerto Varas, Puerto Octay and Frutillar on the LLanquihue lake. We offer a welcome buffet lunch at the "Espantapajaros" a heritage restaurant of chilean-german tradition, with amazing views on the lake and craft beer. Towards the evening, we return southbound and reach the village of Hornopiren.

This is a tiny fishing village in an inlet channel, lodging is at cabin-type houses such as Cabañas El Mirador or similar.

It is independent with living, dining, 1 or 2 bedrooms and full-equipped kitchen.

Lunch included.
Breakfast and dinner not included.

Day 2
Day 2

Inter-modal scenic roadtrip with ferries across channels and fjords. Visit of the Pumalin park and Chaiten. Dirt road in the wilderness to Puerto Ramirez and Lago Yelcho.

At 7.00am we take our first ferry from Hornopiren for a 3.5-hour navigation. We desembark and drive for 30 minutes to embark on the 2nd ferry for a brief navigation of about 20 minutes to Caleta Gonzalo. This is where the wild patagonia road begins! We stop for a quick lunch at the restaurant in Caleta Gonzalo. The dock and complex are part of the Pumalin Reserve created by the Tomkins Foundation. Our first visit on our way on the dirt road to Chaiten (40km) is a walk into the millenary forest of Giant Larch trees. We will also detour to visit the exotic beach of Santa Barbara: it seems a jungle beach but yet you have snow capped mountains at the horizon. We arrive to Chaiten, grab a quick bite, some maps and visit the site that has been left the same, as a reminder of the destruction from the last eruption of the volcano, that forced evacuation for all villagers and buried the houses with heavy ashes. On our roadtrip southbound on the Carretera Austral we also visit Amarillo, the other gate of the Pumalin. From here on, the road winds into the fjord-eroded valleys, water always a companion, under the shape of rivers, streams, rapids, lakes, marshlands and above, steep mountain walls with hanging glaciers. All this, embraced by lush vegetation. After 2 hours from Chaiten, we arrive to a beautiful eco-lodge near Puerto Ramirez by the Yelcho lake.

Lodging at the CABAÑA FISHING LODGE. This day includes breakfast and dinner at the fishing lodge.

Day 3
Day 3

Visit of Futaleufu, world-renowned river rafting location.

After breakfast, we drive to the village of Futaleufu, stop for picnic lunch supplies and take a hiking trail to the Mirador del Condor. Optional: if you prefer water sports, also available rafting experience either beginners or intermediate a 3-hour excursion at 13.30pm on the Espolon river.

Return to Futaleufu and late afternoon/evening to visit the village and dine or relax at the cozy hostal.

We can suggest and book for you the best restaurants in town.

Lodging in Futaleufu at HOSTAL LAS NATALIAS.
Today we include breakfast and picnic lunch.

Day 4
Day 4

Queulat National Park, Puyuhuapi and roadtrip to Coyhaique.

Scenic roadtrip, we reach Puyuhuapi on the inlet channel, nearby the Queulat park and we take a one-hour hike up to the belvedere through the cloud and moss forest, from the high spot we have a great view of the hanging glacier. When we return we stop for lunch at the cafeteria at the entrance. On the afternoon we continue our way to Coyhaique. We stop for the night at a panoramic eco-lodge called Lodge Cerro Negro, located on the heights of Coyhaique. We also suggestl: at night, to go for a drink and/or dinner to the famous Dolbek rustic restaurant, founded by the belgian settlers of Patagonia, also reknowned in Chile as craft beer producers.

This day includes breakfast only.

Day 5
Day 5

Scenic roadtrip to Puerto Rio Tranquilo, General Carrera lake and the Marble Cathedrals and Chapel.

After breakfast we continue our trip towards the General Carrera lake. The road is marvelous, we arrive from a high plateau to the "cuesta del diablo", which is a winding descent to the valley of Cerro Castillo. Then our way continues to Puerto RIo Tranquilo on the lake. According to the lake conditions (wind, waves, rain and position of the sun) we may opt for the navigation to the marble chapels and cathedrals on the early morning of the next day. The photos to the marble formations vary consistently according to the light that shines on them, so you may even opt for a double navigation, this day and the next or at least on the best possible conditions, between the 2 days available for this.

We can also enrich the day with visit to Puerto Sanchez, an isolated lake village with an impressive road to get there.

Lunch is suggested at the LAS BRUJAS restaurant in Puerto Rio Tranquilo.

This day includes only breakfast.

Day 6

The private transfer is planned for the flight at 16.20.
